Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Norton High School

Minutemen Win: 1 - 0
Revere High School Girls Soccer Team advanced to their 5th straight district final when they defeated Norton 1-0 on Monday evening. In soggy conditions, Revere started slowly and were struggling to produce their usual possession game. Norton were the more aggressive team in the first half, regularly getting to the ball first, but they were unable to create any genuine chances on goal. Revere improved after the break, and were beginning to dominate possession, while at the same time being aware of the threat Norton threatened on the counter attack. Revere's defense was doing an awesome job nullifying any threat Norton posed, while allowing the attack to create meaningful chances. Revere finally grabbed the lead with about 25 minutes remaining when a corner from Anna Clarke was misjudged by the Norton goalkeeper allowing Morgan Fee to pounce and force the ball over the line and into the Norton goal. Norton were struggling to generate any offense of significance, and it looked like if any team was going to add to the scoreline, it would be Revere. Despite creating a number of promising chances, Revere were unable to increase their lead, but did manage to hold on to win the game and return to the district final where they will play Chagrin Falls at CVCA on Thursday at 7:00pm

Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Norwayne High School

Minutemen Win: 2 - 0
Revere High School Girls Soccer Team returned to winning ways on Monday evening with a 2-0 victory at Norwayne. Norwayne entered the game with a record of 11-2-0, so Revere knew they would have to perform well if they were to get something out of the game. Revere started the game with a purpose, but despite controlling the majority of possession in the opening minutes, were unable to get on the scoresheet. Revere kept pressing, but had to be mindful of some quick counter attacks from the Norwayne forwards. Revere eventually took the lead when Anna Clarke swung in a corner from the right and Morgan Fee powered a header past the Norwayne goalkeeper and into the goal. Clarke then went from provider to goalscorer when Katerina Tsarouhas found her with a neat pass. Clarke took a touch and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the net to double the Revere girl's advantage. The second half followed much the same pattern as the first, and Revere were unlucky not to add to the scoreline when Anna Clarke fired a right footed shot over the keeper that crashed back off the crossbar. Norwayne briefly threatened to get themselves back into the game, but a combination of strong defending and good goalkeeping from Olivia Papouras kept the hosts at bay. Revere improved their record to 8-3-4 for the season and are next in action on Wednesday when they host Aurora in their final regular season game of the season.

Minutemen Win: 2 - 1
Revere High School Girls Soccer Team improved their Suburban League record to 4-0-2 for the season after they defeated Kent Roosevelt 2-1 on Wednesday evening. After being held to consecutive ties for the last two Suburban League games, the girls were intent on getting off to a good start, and duly opened the scoring five minutes into the first half. Anna Clarke played a long pass into the Kent half and beyond the Kent defense. Morgan Fee was on it in a flash, and took a touch before unleashing an unstoppable left-footed shot over the Kent goalkeeper and into the top corner of the goal. Revere continued to dominate, and if it weren't for the heroics of the Kent goalkeeper, the game would have been over as a contest before the first half was over. Revere had to settle for a one goal lead at half time, but nearly doubled their advantage 10 seconds into the second half when Morgan Fee found Mia Fourtounis in the area. Fourtounis fired a shot towards goal but the Kent keeper was again equal to the effort and the ball was cleared. Revere kept the pressure up and eventually got the second goal they deserved midway through the second half when Hailey Janke fed Anna Clarke outside the area. Clarke fired in a powerful shot which the Kent keeper initially stopped but then fumbled it over the goal line. It was tough luck for the Kent keeper as that was the only thing she did wrong all game, and indeed she pulled over further impressive saves as Revere threatened to run away with the game. Kent then managed to pull a goal back when a shot from a Kent forward rebounded off the goal post and fell kindly for another Kent forward to tap home from close range. Sensing a way back into the game, Kent began to throw players forward in search of an equalizer, but Revere held strong to improve their overall record for the season to 7-3-3. The girls are next in action when they host Wadsworth on Saturday at 5:00 and 7:00pm

Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Highland High School

Minutemen Lose: 1 - 1
Revere High School Girls Soccer Team traveled to Highland for a Suburban League game on Wednesday evening and ended up with a 1-1 tie. In miserably wet conditions, Revere started the game well, and went ahead with just over two minutes played. Anna Clarke played a ball beyond the Highland defense that Morgan Fee raced on to and calmly slotted the ball past the Highland goalkeeper. Revere continued to pressure the Highland defense and were clearly the more dominant team in the first half, but they were unable to add to the scoresheet and Revere went in leading 1-0 at half time. The second half followed much the same as the first with Revere in control but unable to increase their advantage. With around 20 minutes remaining, Highland somehow managed to tie the game when a Highland forward turned home a loose ball after Revere goalkeeper Olivia Papouras had made a good save. The Highland forward appeared to be in an offside position, but like the rest of the evening, the game seemed to be played by a set of rules that were difficult to understand. Revere continued to pressure the Highland defense, but were unable to score the goal that would earn them the win that their performance certainly deserved. Revere are next in action on Monday evening when they host Marlington, before making the short trip to Copley next Wednesday.

Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Westlake High School

Minutemen Lose: 1 - 3
Revere High School Girls Soccer Team lost a hard fought contest on Monday evening at Westlake by a score of 3-1. Revere struggled to get into the game in the opening stages, with Westlake hurrying and hassling every Revere player in possession. Revere gradually began to find their way back into the game, but ultimately conceded the first goal when a cross from the right was tucked into the Revere goal by a Westlake forward. Revere tried to level the score but were still trailing when the halftime whistle blew. Revere changed formation in the second half, but were soon further behind when Westlake took advantage of a corner by heading in their second goal. This proved to be a wake up call for Revere and they were soon on the front foot. With around 20 minutes remaining, Revere got themselves back into the game when a corner from Anna Clarke was forced home by Morgan Fee. Revere were now pushing for an equalizer and had a number of decent chances despite losing Morgan Fee to an injury during the second half. With Revere pushing for a second goal and time running down, it was Westlake who scored the last goal of the game with just over 2 minutes remaining when another cross from the right found a Westlake forward who steered the ball past Olivia Papouras and into the Revere goal. Revere can certainly be proud of the effort they put into the game, and with a little more luck, could easily have come away with a more positive result. Revere are next in action when they host Barberton on Wednesday evening for senior night.

Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Streetsboro High School

Minutemen Win: 3 - 1
Revere High School Girls Soccer Team produced their best performance of the season to beat visiting Streetsboro 3-1 on Thursday evening. Streetsboro entered the game as the number 1 team in the district and number 5 in the State, but were no much for the Revere girls. Revere grabbed the lead with less than five minutes played when Morgan Fee slipped a pass to Anna Clarke, and Clarke made no mistake with a powerful shot that gave the Streetsboro goalkeeper no chance. Streetsboro leveled the score when Emma Flick produced an unstoppable shot from distance into the top corner of the Revere goal. Revere grabbed the lead for a second time when Anna Clarke stole the ball from a Streetsboro defender and fired in a shot for her second goal of the game. Half time arrived with Revere leading 2-1, and they continued their dominance in the second half. Anna Clarke finished the game off with a high shot from distance sailed over the Streetsboro goalkeeper and into the net to complete her hat-trick after another assist from Morgan Fee. Katerina Tsarouhas was outstanding for Revere keeping the dangerous Emma Flick quiet for the majority of the game, although every single player played their part in an impressive victory for the girls. Revere are next in action on Monday evening when they travel to Westlake.

Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Tallmadge High School

Minutemen Win: 2 - 0
Revere High School Girls Soccer Team won their second Suburban League game of the season at Tallmadge to improve their conference record to 2-0-0. Revere started strongly and were dominating possession - so much so that it took over 10 minutes for Tallmadge to mount any sort of attack. Despite dominating the game, Revere were struggling to create any meaningful chances and as time wore on, Tallmadge grew in confidence and became more of a threat on the break. Half time arrived with the game goalless and Tallmadge doing a good job of frustrating the Revere offense. The second half seemed to be following the same pattern as the first until Katerina Tsarouhas received a pass from Hailey Janke and tried her luck with a left-footed shot. The Tallmadge goalkeeper fumbled the shot and the ball trickled over the line to give Revere the lead. Shortly afterwards, Morgan Fee was fouled in the area from a corner kick resulting in a penalty to Revere. Fee calmly dispatched the spot kick past the Tallmadge goalkeeper and into the net to double Revere's advantage and ensure the girls won their second consecutive Suburban League game after beating Cuyahoga Falls 8-1 last week. The team improved their record on the season to 3-1-1, and don't have much time to rest as they are back in action tomorrow evening when they host Streetsboro at 6:00pm.

Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Hoover High School

Minutemen Win: 4 - 1
The Revere High School Girls Soccer Team earned their first victory of the season with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over North Canton Hoover. The game started with Revere controlling the majority of possession, but were unable to turn superiority into goals. That changed midway through the first half when Anna Clarke won a free kick in the Hoover half. Clarke's low free kick was half cleared by the Hoover defense, and the ball rebounded to Clarke who lobbed a ball over the top of the Hoover defense, allowing Lilly Hamblin to react fastest and beat the Hoover goalkeeper to prod the ball into the Hoover goal. Hoover restored parity when they were awarded a penalty with a little less than 10 minutes to play in the half. Freshman Sierra White was harshly adjudged to have fouled a Hoover forward despite winning the ball. Goalkeeper Olivia Papouras made an excellent attempt to save the spot kick, but despite getting a strong hand to the ball, was unable to keep it out of the net. Despite feeling hard done to, Revere immediately went on the offensive and less than 30 seconds after the restart, Revere restored their advantage. Bianca Milovancev played a ball down the line for Morgan Fee to chase. A Hoover defender was first to the ball but misjudged the bounce allowing Fee through on goal. That was all Fee needed as she smashed the ball past the Hoover goalkeeper and into the back of the net for her third goal in two games. Revere extended their lead a few minutes later when Kayla Smith controlled a pass from Morgan Fee and looped a shot over the Hoover goalkeeper and into the far corner. The second half was very similar to the first with Revere controlling possession and Hoover looking to hit on the break. The game was effectively over when Revere scored their fourth goal of the night with an excellent team move. A defense splitting pass from Anna Clarke released Morgan Fee down the left side and Fee's pinpoint cross allowed Olivia Jakab to tuck the ball into the goal for her first goal of the season. Revere held firm in defense to prevent Hoover from getting back into the game, and in the process earn their first win of the season. The girls are next in action on Wednesday when they open Suburban League play at Cuyahoga Falls.

Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Stow-Munroe Falls High School

Minutemen Lose: 4 - 4
The Revere High School Girls Soccer Team opened their season with an entertaining 4-4 tie with Stow-Munroe Falls. In blistering heat, Revere started strongly, and duly opened the scoring when a corner from senior Anna Clarke was tapped in at the far post by fellow senior Morgan Fee. Unfortunately, Revere were unable to maintain the pace they set at the beginning of the match and handed the initiative to their opponents. With Revere struggling to match their opponents in most areas of the field, Stow scored four times without reply to hold a commanding 4-1 lead at half time. Revere were able to regroup at half time, and managed to pull a goal back when Morgan Fee was tripped in the area. Fee stepped up and smashed the resulting penalty past the Stow goalkeeper.  Shortly afterwards, Revere pulled to within a goal when the Stow goalkeeper failed to hold on to a cross from sophomore Hailey Janke, and freshman Kiann Johnston, playing in her first varsity game, managed to force the ball into the goal. Revere now had their tails up, and were awarded a second penalty when Kiann Johnston was brought down in the area. Anna Clarke was this time given the opportunity from 12 yards, and made no mistake when she fired her penalty into the back of the net. Revere sensed an opportunity to claim what seemed an unlikely victory, but despite late pressure from the hosts, were unable to find a way to win the game that the 2nd half performance deserved. Revere next host North Canton Hoover on Monday next with a 7:00pm kick off.
