MINUTEMEN: 4
HOOVER HIGH SCHOOL: 1

The Revere High School Girls Soccer Team earned their first victory of the season with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over North Canton Hoover. The game started with Revere controlling the majority of possession, but were unable to turn superiority into goals. That changed midway through the first half when Anna Clarke won a free kick in the Hoover half. Clarke's low free kick was half cleared by the Hoover defense, and the ball rebounded to Clarke who lobbed a ball over the top of the Hoover defense, allowing Lilly Hamblin to react fastest and beat the Hoover goalkeeper to prod the ball into the Hoover goal. Hoover restored parity when they were awarded a penalty with a little less than 10 minutes to play in the half. Freshman Sierra White was harshly adjudged to have fouled a Hoover forward despite winning the ball. Goalkeeper Olivia Papouras made an excellent attempt to save the spot kick, but despite getting a strong hand to the ball, was unable to keep it out of the net. Despite feeling hard done to, Revere immediately went on the offensive and less than 30 seconds after the restart, Revere restored their advantage. Bianca Milovancev played a ball down the line for Morgan Fee to chase. A Hoover defender was first to the ball but misjudged the bounce allowing Fee through on goal. That was all Fee needed as she smashed the ball past the Hoover goalkeeper and into the back of the net for her third goal in two games. Revere extended their lead a few minutes later when Kayla Smith controlled a pass from Morgan Fee and looped a shot over the Hoover goalkeeper and into the far corner. The second half was very similar to the first with Revere controlling possession and Hoover looking to hit on the break. The game was effectively over when Revere scored their fourth goal of the night with an excellent team move. A defense splitting pass from Anna Clarke released Morgan Fee down the left side and Fee's pinpoint cross allowed Olivia Jakab to tuck the ball into the goal for her first goal of the season. Revere held firm in defense to prevent Hoover from getting back into the game, and in the process earn their first win of the season. The girls are next in action on Wednesday when they open Suburban League play at Cuyahoga Falls.
