RHS Girls Track and Field earns Nordonia Div. I District Runner Up!

The Revere Girls Track and Field Team continued their success this season with great efforts at the Nordonia Division 1 District Championships.  Not only did the team have numerous regional qualifiers, but they took home the Runner-up trophy from the meet! 

The throws duo of Tori Parish and Kaylynn Waldron started the night off right with finals appearances in the Discus, After the throwing was done, Kaylynn came away with a 6th place finish and Tori earned Runner-up and a trip to Regionals!  Alizya Hunter kept things going strong with a 6th place finish in the 100 hurdles right before Lauren DiSalvo took 8th in the 100 and Charlotte Keenan sprinted to a regional qualifying 3rd place finish.  The 4 x 200 Relay came next with the team of Lily Fox, Kate Fuller, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan earning Revere girls first ever 1st place finish in a running event at the Nordonia District!  Keira Lang ran her way to an impressive PR in the 1600m run to place 3rd overall and qualify for Regionals and then the sprinters got right back to work in the 4x100 relay.  The team of Kate Fuller, Lauren DiSalvo, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan sped to a 3rd place finish and another regional qualifying effort.  Next on the track for Revere was Lily Fox in the 300 meter hurdles.  Lily ran a huge PR to take 6th place overall!  Caroline WIlson and Aleni Bender lined up next in the 800 meter run.  Caroline put together the kick of a lifetime to PR and capture the 4th and final regional qualifying spot while Aleni Bender put together a runner up performance that broke the school record!  Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan put together more great racing with 6th and 7th placings in the 200 before Ellie Meech and Laura Wagner started the 3200 meter run.  Laura came through with another PR to take 6th place while Ellie continued a great comeback from injury to take 2nd and qualify for regionals! The final event on the track was the 4 x 400 relay.  Aleni Bender, Caroline Wilson, Kate Fuller and Leah Valentine closed out the night with a thrilling race to a runner up finish and a regional qualifying spot!  

Special shout outs go to Josie Schiesswohl, Rosa Parsons, Joanne Roque, Ella Slaby, Aubrey McMurray, Allyson Schultz and Aubrey Gesing who also had great performances and played huge roles in the team's success at this meet and all year!

Friday's regional qualifiers will join Lauren DiSalvo in High Jump and the 4 x 800 of Aleni Bender, Caroline Wilson, Ellie Meech and Keira Lang at the Austintown Regional Championships this Wednesday and Friday.  Be sure to wish them good luck!

Great Start for Revere Girls Track at Nordonia Div. 1 District meet!

The RHS Girls Track and Field Team began competition at the Nordonia Division 1 District last night with some strong running, jumping and throwing!  

Finals were contested in the 4 x 800, high jump and shot put.  Lauren DiSalvo earned runner-up in high jump and qualified for the Regional Championships.  The 4 x 800 relay team of Aleni Bender, Caroline Wilson, Ellie Meech, and Keira Lang also earned 2nd place and will be running out at Austintown in the Regional Finals.  Kaylynn Waldron and Tori Parish, each qualified for the district finals in shot put and ultimately earned scoring placings with Kaylynn 7th and Tori 8th!  

In the preliminary sprint and hurdle events, Charlotte Keenan and Lauren DiSalvo qualified for the finals in the 100, Charlotte Keenan and Leah Valentine qualified in the 200, Alizya Hunter qualified for finals in the 100 hurdles and Lily Fox qualified in the 300 hurdles.  The 4 x 100 relay of Kate Fuller, Lauren DiSalvo, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan, the 4 x 200 relay of Lily Fox, Kate Fuller, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan, and the 4 x 400 relay of Aleni Bender, Caroline WIlson, Kate Fuller and Lily Fox all qualified for finals as well!

Revere Girls Track and Field Finishes 3rd at the Suburban League Championships

After the dust settled on day 2 of the Suburban League Championships, the RHS Girls Track and Field Team found themselves in 3rd place at an exciting Suburban League Championship meet!  

Tori Parish and Kaylynn Waldron competed well in the discus to capture 3rd and 6th place respectively and Lauren DiSalvo set a huge PR to place 7th in pole vault! 

On the track, Josie Schiesswohl placed 4th in the 100 hurdles while Alizya Hunter placed 5th.  Leah Valentine Tied for 5th in the 100 and placed 3rd in the 200.  Charlotte Keenan Placed 8th in the 100 and 4th in the 200.  Allyson Schultz placed 7th in the 400.  Keira Lang Placed 2nd in the 1600 and 3rd in the 3200 while Ellie Meech placed 5th in the 1600 and Laura Wagner placed 5th in the 3200.  Caroline Wilson ran to a 3rd place finish in the 800 and Lily Fox ran an impressive PR to claim league runner-up in the 300 hurdles.  

The team's relays built from Monday's 1st place 4 x 800 to add more great results.  The 4 x 200m relay team of Lily Fox, Kate Fuller, Aleni Bender, and Charlotte Keenan came from behind to tie for 2nd place in a photo finish, the 4 x 400 team of Aleni Bender, Caroline WIlson, Kate Fuller and Leah Valentine shattered the previous league record by two seconds en route to a runner up finish and the 4 x 100 relay of Kate Fuller, Lauren DiSalvo, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan took home the Suburban League Championship in their event! 

Finally, Aleni Bender regained her 800m League Championship after winning the same race her freshman year!

Strong Start for RHS Girls Track and Field at the Suburban League Championships

The Lady Minutemen Track and Field team had a strong start at the Suburban League Championships.  On the first day of this 2 day competition, Tori Parish and Kaylynn Waldron each made the finals in the shot put, with Kaylynn finishing in 8th place overall.   Rosa Parsons had a top ten finish while Lauren DiSalvo high jumped to a league runner-up placing, and the 4 x 800 relay of Aleni Bender, Caroline Wilson, Allyson Schultz, and Keira Lang took home the Suburban League Championship!

Revere Girls Track Finishes 3rd at the JV League Championships!

On Saturday, the Revere JV Girls Track and Field Team ended their season at the Suburban League JV Championships.  The team put together some great performances to place 3rd overall with lots of highlights!  

Starting with the field events, Ruby Aldrich placed 4th in discus while Madison Hollister was 8th, Avery Lukehart placed 8th in Pole Vault, Monika Sands was 7th in long jump, and Aubrey Freeman placed 5th in high jump and 1st in long jump! 

On the track, the 4 x 800 relay of Ella Slaby, Riley Boring, Peyton Neidling and Molly Wolfe started the team out with a 2nd place finish, Aubrey Freeman and Hannah Kim were 7th and 8th in the 100, Jane Collins placed 2nd in the 400, Riley Boring was 6th in the 800, Ella Slaby placed 3rd in the 1600 and Peyton Neidlinger placed 8th, Ella Slaby also placed 2nd in the 3200 while Avery Lukehart placed 3rd in the 100 hurdles and 5th in the 300 hurdles. Finally, Molly Wolfe won the 300 meter hurdles!  

The 4 x 100 relay of Aubrey Freeman, Hannah Kim, Anna Wick , and Livia Baron placed 3rd and the 4 x 400 relay of Jane Collins, Annie Ruby, Olivia George, and  Anna Wick was 4th overall.

Revere Girls Track and Field earns 1st place at NorWayne's Dwight Schar Invitational!

On Friday night, the Lady Minuteman competed at the Norwayne Dwight Schar invitational where the team captured 1st place!!!! 

The team found success in all areas with every member on the roster scoring for the Minutemen!  Lauren DiSalvo placed 1st in high jump and tied for 5th in pole vault, Joanne Roque tied for 5th in pole vault and Rosa Parsons took 7th in high jump. Tori Parish placed 2nd in discus and 7th in shot put, Kaylynn Waldron placed 2nd in shot put and 3rd in discus, and Alizya Hunter placed 2nd in Long Jump and 2nd in the 100 hurdles.  Aubrey McMurray continued great hurdling for the Minutemen with a 6th place finish in the 100 hurdles and an 8th place finish in the 300 hurdles. Lily Fox ended hurdles on a high note with her 2nd place finish in the 300 hurdles.  Leah Valentine led a great sprinting effort with 1st place finishes in the 100 and 200, while Aubrey Gesing earned 7th in the 100 and Kate Fuller placed 4th in the 200.  Aleni Bender placed 3rd in the 400 and Allyson Schultz took 7th.  Caroline Wilson placed 4th in the 800.  Keira Lang was 3rd in the 1600 with Laura Wagner across the line in 5th, and Ellie Meech earned 3rd in the 3200 while Ella Slaby earned an 8th place finish.  

The 4 x 800 Relay of Allyson Schultz, Ella Slaby, Rosa Parsons and Laura Wagner placed 4th, the 4 x 400 relay of Caroline Wilson, Charlotte Keenan, Aubrey Gesing and Keira Lang was 3rd, the 4 x 200M of Lily Fox, Kate Fuller, Aleni Bender and Charlotte Keenan was 2nd and the 4 x 100 relay of Kate Fuller, Lauren DiSalvo, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan placed 1st!

RHS Girls Track Ends Dual Meet Season with a Win vs Brecksville!!!!

The RHS Girls track and field team finished their dual meet season last night with a win at home over Brecksville!  The Minutemen saw strong performances from athletes in key events to take the victory. 

Kaylynn Waldron put together a dominant night in the throwing rings taking 1st place in both shot and Discus.  Tori Parish was right behind with more great throws to collect 2nd in each of these events.  Lauren DiSalvo and Daphne Roque placed 2nd and 3rd in pole vault, Rosa Parsons took 2nd in high jump, and Hanna Freeman, Alizya Hunter and Josie Schiesswhol swept the long jump! 

On the track, Alizya Hunter and Aubrey McMurray started off scoring with 1st and 2nd place in the 100 hurdles.  Leah Valentine stepped up next with a win in the 100 meter dash.  The 4 x 200 relay of Fox, Fuller, Bender and Keenan ran their best effort of the season to take first and so did the 4 x 100 of Fuller, DiSalvo, Valentine and Keenan.  Allison Schultz placed 2nd in the 400 while Aubrey McMurray and Molly Wolfe placed 2nd and 3rd in the 300 hurdles.  Ella Slaby earned an impressive win and a new PR in the 800, and Caroline Wilson placed 1st in the 200! 

The Team will compete next at the Norwayne Invitational on Friday and the JV Suburban League Championships on Saturday.  Keep up the great work! 

Lady Minutemen Win Tallmadge Invitational With Record Times!

Last night, the Lady Minutemen stormed the track at the Tallmadge Invitational to repeat as meet champions.  The team had great contributions in every single event for a balanced and dominant performance.  

Throwers Kaylynn Waldron and Tori Parish started the meet out with some impressive throws in shot and discus.  Tori earned second in disc, Kaylynn placed third, and they tied for second place in shot put!  Lauren DiSalvo placed 2nd in High Jump and Rosa Parsons took 4th.  Josie Schiesswohl was 6th in Long Jump, and Avery Lukehart and Lauren DiSalvo tied for 6th in pole vault!  

Things were equally outstanding on the track.  Charlotte Keenan and Leah Valentine put together great nights of sprinting, with 2nd and 3rd placings in the 200 and 3rd and 4th finishes in the 100.  Caroline Wilson ran to a runner up finish in the 400 with Aubrey Gesing taking 8th.  The 800 saw Aleni Bender break teammate Caroline Wilson's meet record to win the event and Keira Lang placed 3rd.  In the 1600, Allyson Schultz ran a great race to place 7th and Keira Lang won with a new meet record in the event! The 3200 was highlighted by an 8th place finish and PR for Ella Slaby and a runner-up placing by Laura Wagner who also PR'd.  The 100 hurdles were all Revere, with Alizya Hunter and Josie Schiesswohl taking 1st and 2nd in the event!  The 300 hurdles saw more great placings with Molly Wolfe earning 7th place and Lily Fox crushing the meet record to earn another win in this event!  

Revere's relays were a strong point for the team.  The 4 x 800 of Caroline WIlson, Allyson Schultz, Laura Wagner, and Keira Lang started running out with a 1st place finish, the 4 x 200 of Lily Fox, Kate Fuller, Aleni Bender and Charlotte Keenan placed 2nd, the 4 x100 of Lily Fox, Kate Fuller, Leah Valentine, and Charlotte Keenan placed 2nd, and finally the 4 x 400 team of Aleni Bender, Caroline Wilson, Kate Fuller, and Leah Valentine finished the meet with a new meet record and 1st place finish!

This was an exciting night for the Minutemen and a great sign that they are ready for their best performances!  The team will compete again on Monday as they host the Bees from Brecksville.  Wish them luck

RHS Girls Track and Field Earns a Win at Wadsworth!

Last night the Girls track and field team took on the Grizzlies from Wadsworth.  The rain and wind didn't stop the Minutemen from earning a great win against a cross conference rival!

The team had great contributions in all events.  In the field events, Tori Parish placed first in the disc and Kaylynn Waldron earned 2nd in the shot put, Lauren DiSalvo placed 2nd in pole vault and 3rd in high jump, and Josie Schiesswohl and Alizya Hunter took 1st and 2nd in the long jump.  

Back on the track Josie and Alizya continued the great work with 1st and 2nd place finishes in the 100 hurdles while Aubrey McMurray notched 3rd place to complete an impressive sweep.  Kate Fuller placed 2nd in the 100, Laura Wagner and Ella Slaby took 1st and 2nd in the 1600, Aleni Bender and Charlotte Keenan placed 2nd and 3rd in the 400, Lily Fox won the 300 hurdles, Keira Lang took first in the 800, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan placed 2nd and 3rd in the 200 and Caroline Wilson won the 3200 meter run.  The 4 x 800 relay team of Caroline Wilson, Laura Wagner, Ella Slaby and Keira Lang Place first, the 4 x 200 relay of Lily Fox, Lauren DiSalvo, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan placed first, and the 4 x 400 relay of Kate Fuller, Aubrey Gesing, Allyson Schultz,  and Jane Collins also collected first place.  

This was a strong showing for the team as they prepare for another great meet on Thursday at the Tallmadge Invitational.  Be sure to wish the team good luck!

Revere Girls Track Earns Great Win on Senior Night!

On Friday, The Lady Minutemen took on Copley in a senior night showdown at the track.  The seniors helped lead their team to a big victory over their rivals for the third time in a row!  

The  4 x 800 Team of Leah Valentine, Caroline Wilson, Ella Slaby and Keira Lang started the meet off with a first place finish.  Alizya Hunter, Josie Schiesswohl, and Aubrey McMurray followed this up with a 1,2,3 sweep in the 100 hurdles.  Charlotte Keenan placed 2nd in the 100 meters, the 4 x 200 relay of Lily Fox, Kate Fuller, Aubrey Gesing and Charlotte Keenan placed 1st, and Caroline Wilson and Allyson Schultz placed 1st and 2nd in the 1600.   Aubrey Gesing took 1st in the 400 and Natash Pokrajac placed 3rd, and the Minutemen swept the 300 hurdles with Lily Fox in 1st, Aubrey McMurray in 2nd, and Alizya Hunter in 3rd.  Aleni Bender placed first in the 800 and Rosa Parsons placed 3rd.  To close out the running, the Minutemen swept the 200, 3200 and 4.x 400!  Leah Valentine was 1st in the 200, Charlotte Keenan was 2nd and Kate Fuller placed 3rd.  Keira Lang won the 3200, while Ella Slaby placed 2nd and Lauren DiSalvo took 3rd.  Finally Aleni Bender, Leah Valentine, Allyson Schultz and Caroline WIlson took home a big win in the 4 x 400 relay.  

The field events were exciting as well.  Tori Parish won the disc and placed 2nd in shot, while Kaylynn Waldron placed 2nd in discus.  Lauren DiSalvo and Rosa Parsons took 2nd and 3rd in the high jump, and Lauren placed 3rd in pole vault.  Finally, Alizya Hunter and Josie Schiesswohl took 2nd and 3rd in long jump. 

This big win over Copley was a great way to send off our seniors and thank them for all of the leadership and hard work they have contributed to the team.

Lady Minutemen earn Runner-up finish at the Walsh Relays!

On Saturday, the Lady Minuteman Track and Field Team traveled to Walsh to compete against a deep field in the Warrior Relays.  When the dust settled from the 17 team meet, the Minutemen found themselves with a runner-up team finish!  

The meet started with strong performances from Aleni Bender, Caroline Wilson, Ella Slaby and Keira Lang in the 4 x 1600 meter relay where their team finished 3rd.  Shortly after, the 4 x 800 relay team of Keira Lang, Allyson Schultz, Ella Slaby and Laura Wagner collected another 3rd place team finish.  The field events were busy at this time with the Shot Put Trio of Tori Parish, Kaylynn Waldon and Maggie Zurn taking 7th place and the high jump relay of Rosa Parsons, Aubrey Freeman and Lauren DiSalvo placing first along with Lauren's first place individual jump! 

Back on the track, Josie Schiesswohl hurdled her way to a 4th place finish and Leah Valentine sped to 3rd in the 100 meter dash.  Next up, the 4 x 200 relay team of Kate Fuller, Lauren DiSalvo, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan stormed to a first place finish!  The next scorers for the Minutemen were Allyson Schultz, Hailey Fashinpaur, Caroline Wilson and Keira Lang who took 2nd in the distance medley.  The shuttle hurdle team of Josie Schiesswohl, Lily Fox, Aubrey McMurray and Alizya Hunter battled their way to 3rd place and the 4 x 100 relay of Kate Fuller, Aubrey Gesing, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan took fifth.  Aleni Bender threw down a new personal best in the 400 to take 4th and Lily Fox hit a huge PR to earn 4th in the 300 hurdles.  Caroline Wilson finished a big day with 8th place in the 800 and Charlotte Keenan ran a strong 200 to place 5th. Laura Wagner tackled a tough field in the 3200 to place 7th and the sprint medley team of Kate Fuller, Aubrey Gesing, Lauren DiSalvo and Leah Valentine placed 3rd.  At a critical point in the meet, the discus relay of Tori Parish, Maggie Zurn and Kaylynn Waldron came through with a 3rd place finish to give the team a chance at 2nd place overall.  In the final event, the 4 x 400 relay of Aleni Bender, Aubrey Gesing, Kate Fuller and Charlotte Keenan toed the line in 3rd place by 2 points.  The team powered to a 5th place finish that gave them the boost needed to finish as the meet runner-up!

The Minutemen Earn a Convincing Win at Nordonia!

Last night the RHS Girls Track and Field Team traveled to take on the Knights of Nordonia.  The Minutemen put together strong efforts in every event to walk away with a convincing victory!  

Josie Schiesswohl and Alizya Hunter placed 1st and 2nd in both the 100 hurdles and long jump, Charlotte Keenan and Lily Fox placed 1st and 2nd in the 100, Laura Wagner placed 3rd in the 1600, Leah Valentine and Caroline Wilson placed 1st and 2nd in the 400,  Lily Fox and Aubrey McMurray were 1st and 3rd in the 300 hurdles, Aleni Bender and Keira Lang placed 1st and 2nd in the 800, Kate Fuller was first in the 200, Ellie Meech placed first in the 3200, Lauren DiSalvo placed 2nd and Rosa Parson was 3rd in High Jump, and Tori Parish and Kaylynn Waldron took 1st and 2nd in the discus and 2nd and 3rd in shot put. 

The 4 x 800 relay team of Aleni Bender, Ellie Meech, Laura Wagner and Keira Lang took first place along with the 4 x 200 relay team of Lily Fox, Aubrey Gesing, Leah Valentine, and Charlotte Keenan and the 4 x 100 relay team of Kate Fuller, Aubrey Gesing, Charlotte Keenan and Lauren DiSalvo.

RHS Girls Track Earns Great Team Win Over Tallmadge, Copley and St. V!

The RHS Girls Track and Field Team traveled to Tallmadge High School on Saturday for a quad meet against Tallmadge, Copley, and Saint Vincent-Saint Mary.  The team brought their best effort from start to finish and bested the Blue Devils of Tallmadge by 2 points to win the entire meet!  

Revere had a full team of athletes who earned top 6 placings at the meet to score for the team!  

Tori Parish placed 1st in Discus and 2nd in Shot, Ellie Meech was first in the 1600,  Keira Lang was first in the 3200, Josie Schiesswohl was first in the 100 hurdles, Lily Fox placed 1st in the 300 hurdles, and Lauren DiSalvo placed 1st in high jump and 2nd in pole vault. Kaylynn Waldron placed 2nd in Discus and 4th in shot put, Caroline Wilson placed 2nd in the 1600, Leah Valentine was 2nd in the 100, Aleni Bender placed 2nd in the 400, and Allyson Schultz placed 2nd in the 800.  Charlotte Keenan placed 3rd in the 200, Tessa Milicia was 4th in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Rosa Parsons was 4th in high jump and 6th in the 800, Maggie Zurn placed 4th in discus, Aubrey Gesing was fifth in the 200, Alizya Hunter was 5th in long jump, Aubrey Freeman placed 5th in high jump, Ella Slaby placed 6th in the 3200,  and Aubrey McMurray placed 6th in the 300 hurdles.

The 4 x 100 relay of Lily Fox, Aubrey Gesing, Leah Valentine and Charlotte Keenan placed 1st, the 4 x 400 of Leah Valentine, Aleni Bender, Allyson Schultz, and Charlotte Keenan was first and the 4 x 800 of Aleni Bender, Caroline Wilson, Ellie Meech and Keira Lang was also first.

RHS Girls Track Starts Season with Strong Performances

Last week, the Revere Girls Track & Field Team kicked off their season with a dual meet at North Royalton and a quadrangular meet against Lake, Tallmadge and Woodridge.  The team came up short of winning those meets, but saw some great performances that they can build from!  

1st place finishers included Leah Valentine, Lilly Fox, Tori Parish, Kaylynn Waldron, Keira Lang and the 4 x 200 relay of Lily Fox, Lauren DiSalvo, Leah Valentine, and Alizya Hunter.  

Athletes earning Runner-up placings included: Lauren DiSalvo, Laura Wagner, Josie Schiesswohl, Kaylynn Waldron, Leah Valentine, and Alizya Hunter. 

Finally, 3rd place finishers were: Lily Fox, Alizya Hunter, Maggie Zurn, Lauren DiSalvo, Keira Lang, Laura Wagner,  and Josie Schiesswohl.
