Girls Varsity Swimming vs. OPEN @ Suburban League Champs - 1-6-24

Minutemen Lose: -
The RHS girls swim/dive team came in 2nd place at SL Champs this past week with a score of 351.5. Top scorers for the team include: Kayla Smith, 1st in backstroke and 2nd place in 50 free; Kajsa Martynyuk, 2nd in butterfly and 3rd in 200 free; Emmy Schmidt, 3rd in 100 free; 200 free relay team (2nd place) and 400 free relay team (1st place) (both relays were Smith, Martynyuk, Schmidt and Emery Banks.)
The team placement was a whole team effort with lots of personal bests and great swims. The teams compete again on Friday at home vs Highland starting at 4:30 pm.

This past Saturday, Revere Swim went to the Jim Stacy invitational in Geneva and our Diver, Ava Farnham, represented at Xmas invite in Canton. Congrats to Kayla Smith, Peter Shockey, Brody Bard, Kajsa Martyunuk, and Alex and Zack Koutris who qualified for finals in individual events. Kayla placed 8th in her 50 free. Great job to the team with 19 of 33 swimmers getting 31 new personal best times including Smith, Martynyuk, PShockey, ZKoutris, Ryenne Harpley, Wade Luther, Sierra Slaven, Kadir Ayala, Alana Pitstick, Camryn Bir, Alayna Esplin, Pace Catlett, Carlee Coleman, Lylah Wilson, Harrison Wynne, Anikait Singh, Gwen Amick, Will Sveda, and Owen Willaman.
The team has three meets over winter break: this Wed 4:30pm they will take on Tallmadge and Wickliffe at home, Thursday 12/21 at 5 pm they will face Walsh Jesuit and Hoover at UAkron, and on Saturday 12/23 they will compete against 7 teams in a relay only meet at 10:10 am also at UAkron.

Both Revere swim teams beat Cuyahoga Falls on Friday night.
The girls team was lead by first place finishes in every event: Emmy Schmidt in 200 free Carlee Coleman in 200 IM, Smith in 50 free and breast, Gwen Amick in butterfly, Emery Banks in 100 free, Julia Grandon in 500 free, Brooke Shaklee in backstroke and the 3 relay teams of Smith, Grandon, Kajsa Martynyuk and Banks in medley, Banks, Amick, Ella Stalnaker and Coleman in 200 free and Martynyuk, Val Tipping, Ryenne Harpley and Coleman in 400 free relay. Congrats to the following girls who posted a new PR: Coleman, Amick, Stalnaker, Viv Tipping, Alayna Esplin, Sierra Slaven, Banks, Martynyuk, and Smith.
Our next swim event is the Jim Stacy Memorial Invitation at Spire in Geneva this Saturday, December 16, 2023.

Girls Varsity Swimming vs. Aurora High School - 11-29-23
Revere Swim and Dive season got underway on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 against Aurora High School.
The girls team started off with the debut of our new diver Ava Farnham, who came in 2nd in her first ever dive competition with a score of 182.33. Julia Grandon (200 free), Kayla Smith (IM and Back), Emery Banks (100 free) and Emmy Schmidt (50 free) all recorded first place finishes. Great job to our 22 girls, most swimming in their first HS meet! Carlee Coleman, Gwen Amick, Nora Burke, Brooke Shaklee, Kajsa Martynyuk, Julia Winchell, Emery Banks and Alayna Esplin posted new personal bests. The girls team came up short, losing to Aurora, 86-99.
The teams will be back at SL competition with the first home meet next Friday, December 8th 5:30 start time at the Welly on the corner of 18 and Crystal Lake Rd. Come support your Minutemen!
