The girls participated in the sectional tournament on Tuesday, October 1st at Springside Racquet Club. Gabi Iler lost a very tough match to Cassandra Komlanc from Copley in the first round; Ananya Jayaraman won her first match against Maya Kilment from Avon Lake but lost a close match against MJ Pimpo in a 3rd set tiebreaker. The doubles team of Aleena Siedlecki and Rasi Veerappan defeated Ellet but lost a close 3rd set to Stow doubles Obert and McGovern. Our first doubles team of Ilyana Leenheer and Bridget Steiner won their first match against North Royalton in 3 sets but lost a tough match to Hudson in the 2nd round only by a break in the 2nd set,
Sadhvi Kurra won matches against Li from Hudson, Prevette from Twinsburg and Lucci from Wadsworth - she lost to Hailey Slay in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
In summary, the girls had a fantastic season placing 2nd in the league and winning tough matches at the sectional tournament. The team will be back next year and springer and more competitive Congratulations to our girls!
