Revere High School Girls Soccer Team beat Marlington 3-0 on Monday evening. Revere went on the offensive from the first whistle, and went ahead in only the fourth minute. Sydney Padgett found Claire Brokloff in space just inside the Marlington half. Brokloff proceeded to waltz through the heart of the Marlington defence and curled a shot past the Marlington keeper and into the side of the net. Revere kept up the pressure and added to the scoreline when Julia Effinger played a corner short to Teagan Johnston. Johnston took a couple of touches before firing an unstoppable shot across the goalkeeper and into the far side of the goal. Revere were dominating play and the Marlington goalkeeper was doing well to keep the score down. A couple of lapses in concentration led to good chances for Marlington towards the end of the half, but the Revere goal remained intact as the game reached half time. The second half was much of the same, with Revere pressing and the Marlington goalkeeper making multiple saves. Revere scored the third and final goal of the game when Adison Novosel worked hard to win possession for Revere in the right corner of the field. Novosel found Kylie Cannon, who in turn found Emily Albert inside the area. Albert sent a curling shot wide of the keeper and into the top corner of the goal to make sure the Revere girls made the long trip home with smiles on their faces after one of their best performances of the season.
