Revere girls' soccer team played out a goalless draw on Wednesday evening against local rivals Copley. Revere were forced to change their usual starting line up with Taylor Kenna ruled out of the game. Revere switched to a 4-4-2 formation with the intent to attack Copley from the outset. The play in the first half was good and Revere had a number of decent chances to open the scoring, but were unable to find a way to get the ball into the Copley goal. Revere also had to be wary of the pace of Copley on the counter attack, but the threat was handled well and Copley rarely troubled Revere keeper Olivia Papouras in the first half. The second half was a slightly different story with Copley controlling most of the play and Revere forced back into their own half as the girls seemed to tire after playing their fourth game in just 7 days. Chances came and went for both teams, but ultimately, a 0-0 tie was probably a fair result. Revere are next in action on Monday when they host Bay Village.
