This weekend the girls cross country team opened their season at the Kenston invitational with great results.  The junior varsity race saw great running throughout the team which resulted in a 6th place finish.  The team's top 5 placers were Kajsa Martynyuk, Dee Dee Sawan, Chloe Grimm, Katie Nowakowski, and Sofia Tenorio.  Kajsa led the way placing in the top 20 while Dee Dee finished in the top 30.  Special mention also goes out to Sophia Tenorio, Rosa Parsons, Leah Valentine, Kate Fuller, Kate Wilson, Zoe Druhard, and Megan Riley who were all sent on an additional half mile during the race.  All 7 of these runners finished the race strong and still placed ahead of many girls in the race!  Way to tough it out!

The Varsity team brought home a trophy to start the year off by placing 3rd out of 19 schools. Along with great team success, we also had 4 top 30 individual award winners. Megan Diulus led the way with a 3rd place finish, Ellie Meech placed 13th, Keira Lang was 20th, and Caroline Wilson placed 27th.  Laura Wagner finished as the team's 5th scoring runner with a 34th place finish.  Both Kayla Beard and Allyson Schultz also set big personal bests on Saturday!
