Boys Middle School Wrestling vs. HSland MS-Medina - 1-11-23

Game Date
Jan 11, 2023

On Wednesday, January 11th, our middle school wrestling team hosted Highland Middle School in a Suburban League dual.  This was our only home competition for the 2022-2023 season.

Highland Middle School has one of the better middle school wrestling teams in the area this year.  But our Minutemen wrestled tough and there were a number of exciting matches for the spectators in attendance.

A quick "shout out" to Principal Conley, Athletic Director Don Seeker, Coach D'Amico and the boys' basketball team for taking time out of their day to come and watch the RMS wrestlers compete !!!

A "thank you" to Mr. Fletcher as well, for running our clock and scoreboard !!!

The final team score:   Highland  49   and   Revere  13

Winning by DECISION for REVERE: R.J. Baker at 142 lbs., by a score of 2 - 1.

Winning by MAJOR DECISION for REVERE: John Arfons at 122 lbs., by a score of 15 - 6.

Winning by PIN for REVERE: Ved Desai at 128 lbs.

There were four additional matches at the end of the dual meet; with Revere winning two out of the four.

Winning by DECISION for REVERE: Ved Desai at 134 lbs., by a score of 7 - 4.

Winning by PIN for REVERE: John Arfons at 122 lbs.

With this match, our overall team dual meet record stands at  3 - 12  on the season and  3 - 6 in the Suburban League.

One highlight of the match with Highland was Ved Desai notching his 18th and 19th victories of the season.  Ved should get his 20th win this weekend at Woodridge.

Tomorrow, Saturday, January 14th, our wrestlers will travel to Woodridge to compete in the Woodridge Middle School Duals Tournament.  Each of our wrestlers should get to compete in five matches.

All the action is scheduled to begin at 10:00am.  If you see one of our middle school wrestlers in class, or in the hallway, wish him luck against Saturday's competition !!!
