RHS - Swim & Dive News - 1-31-22...

Last Wednesday, the Revere Swim and Dive boys and girls teams lost to a much bigger and faster Aurora team in their last dual meet of the season. Scoring 1st for Revere were Kayla Smith in 200 free, Flynn Cowie in 200 free and 50 free, Jackson Campbell in 200 IM and Peyton Thurman in Diving. New PRs for the season were achieved by: seniors Claire Palopoli, Flynn Cowie, and Adam Stumbaugh; juniors Aryan Pai, Jacob Vastagh, and Abby DiSalvo; sophomores Kayla Smith, Peter Shockey, Emery Banks and Julia Grandon;  and freshman Brody Bard and Ben Mauldin. 

On Saturday, Peyton Thurman won the Solon Diving Invitational! Great job!

And on Sunday, the swimmers competed at the Suburban League Champs. The girls team came in 3rd place in the American Conference and the boys placed 4th. We had three Champions!!! Abby DiSalvo is the 200 free champ, Kayla Smith is the backstroke champ and the girls 200 free relay team (Smith, Tarini Gowda, Julia Grandon and DiSalvo)- picture included).

The team recorded 26 new best times at this meet including: freshman Brody Bard and Lily Bright; sophomores Emery Banks, Kayla Smith, Emmy Schmidt, Mohammed Essa, and Julia Grandon; juniors Tate Johnson, Aryan Pai, Jacob Vastagh, Abby DiSalvo, Tarini Gowda, Jacob Ferrara, and Carla Nemer; and seniors Claire Palopoli and Adam Stumbaugh. 

Next up - State qualifying Sectional Swim meet on Friday, February 11th at the University of Akron. Good luck to the 15 swimmers that will be competing!
