RMS - Wrestling News - 12-17-21...

On Wednesday, December 15th, our middle school wrestling team hosted Brecksville Middle School and North Royalton Middle School in two Suburban League duals.  

The first dual of the afternoon was against Brecksville Middle School.  

Our Minutemen were victorious in 9 out of 14 weight classes against the Brecksville Bees.

The final team score:   Revere  51   and   Brecksville  28

Winning by DECISION for REVERE - Mason Massouh at 86 lbs., by a score of 5 - 3.

Winning by FORFEIT for REVERE - Robbie Akins at 92 lbs., Mario Brienza at 122 lbs.,
Nathaniel Steiger at 205 lbs., and Dylan Pawlak at 245 lbs.

Winning by PIN for REVERE - Charlie Rogers at 116 lbs., Max Berlin at 134 lbs., Dom Samartano at 142 lbs., and Brody Smith at 160 lbs.

The next match was against North Royalton Middle School.  The match with the Polar Bears started out as a back-and-forth battle with each team winning several weight classes and then losing several weight classes.  

Revere secured the victory by winning five of the last six weight classes and giving our Minutemen their second victory of the day !!!

The final team score:   Revere  60   and   North Royalton  33

Winning by FORFEIT for REVERE - Carson Sample at 80 lbs., Rocco Bonacuse at 98 lbs., and
Nathaniel Steiger at 205 lbs.

Winning by PIN for REVERE - Mason Massouh at 86 lbs., Robbie Akins at 92 lbs., Mario Brienza at 122 lbs.,
Max Berlin at 134 lbs., Dom Samartano at 142 lbs., Brody Smith at 160 lbs., and Dylan Pawlak at 245 lbs.

With these two matches, our overall team dual meet record stands at  5 - 3  on the season and  3 - 1 in the Suburban League.

A total of five JV matches were wrestled against Brecksville and North Royalton.

Winning by PIN for REVERE - John Arfons at 104 lbs. against North Royalton.

The most exciting matches of the day belonged to Robbie Akins, who pinned his North Royalton opponent in the third period after leading 4 - 3 going into the period, and Mario Brienza who ultimately pinned his North Royalton opponent after almost being pinned earlier in the match.

Tomorrow, Saturday, December 18th, our wrestlers will travel south to Uniontown to compete in the Lake Middle School Christmas Duals.  All the action is scheduled to begin at 9:00am.
