Your boys and girls swimming Minuteman beat the Tallmadge Blue Devils last night (December 7, 2021). The girls dominated the night and won by a score of 96 to 60. Scoring first place for the ladies were sophomore Emery Banks in the 200 free, junior Abby DiSalvo in 200 IM and butterfly, senior Claire Palopoli in 50 free, sophomore Kayla Smith in 100 free and backstroke, sophomore Julia Grandon in 500 free and the 200 medley and 400 free relays of DiSalvo, Grandon, Smith and junior Tarini Gowda. 

The boys were neck and neck with Tallmadge all night. But thanks to a come from behind finish by sophomore Peter Shockey in his anchor leg of the 400 free relay, the boys pulled off the upset winning 85-81. Junior Tate Johnson (200 free and 500 free), senior Flynn Cowie (50 free and breaststroke), senior Jackson Campbell (100 free) and the 200 and 400 free relay teams of Johnson, Cowie, Campbell and junior Weyland Franklyn all placed first.

The following swimmers achieved new personal best times last night: freshman Will Sveda; sophomores Emery Banks, Peter Shockey, Julia Grandon; juniors Aryan Pai, Weyland Franklyn, Carla Nemer; and senior Claire Palopoli. 

The RHS swim and dive team will be competing on Saturday at the Xmas Invite in Canton! Good luck!
