Revere High School Girls Soccer Team improved their Suburban League record to 4-0-2 for the season after they defeated Kent Roosevelt 2-1 on Wednesday evening. After being held to consecutive ties for the last two Suburban League games, the girls were intent on getting off to a good start, and duly opened the scoring five minutes into the first half. Anna Clarke played a long pass into the Kent half and beyond the Kent defense. Morgan Fee was on it in a flash, and took a touch before unleashing an unstoppable left-footed shot over the Kent goalkeeper and into the top corner of the goal. Revere continued to dominate, and if it weren't for the heroics of the Kent goalkeeper, the game would have been over as a contest before the first half was over. Revere had to settle for a one goal lead at half time, but nearly doubled their advantage 10 seconds into the second half when Morgan Fee found Mia Fourtounis in the area. Fourtounis fired a shot towards goal but the Kent keeper was again equal to the effort and the ball was cleared. Revere kept the pressure up and eventually got the second goal they deserved midway through the second half when Hailey Janke fed Anna Clarke outside the area. Clarke fired in a powerful shot which the Kent keeper initially stopped but then fumbled it over the goal line. It was tough luck for the Kent keeper as that was the only thing she did wrong all game, and indeed she pulled over further impressive saves as Revere threatened to run away with the game. Kent then managed to pull a goal back when a shot from a Kent forward rebounded off the goal post and fell kindly for another Kent forward to tap home from close range. Sensing a way back into the game, Kent began to throw players forward in search of an equalizer, but Revere held strong to improve their overall record for the season to 7-3-3. The girls are next in action when they host Wadsworth on Saturday at 5:00 and 7:00pm
