Last week the Minutemen indoor track and field team started out their season at the Spire Institute against a tough field of ten teams. Both the boys and girls teams put on dominant performances!

For the boys team, Sam fisher placed 3rd in the 60 meter dash and 2nd in the 200, while Cameron Penzenik placed 3rd in the 200. Naveen Elliott won the 1600 meter run while Andrew Farrow placed 1st in the high jump, And Ian Matias placed 2nd in the weight throw. The 4 x 400 relay team of Naveen Elliott, Akshay Elango, Philip Liu and Owen Gartland placed third and the 4 x 200 team of Cameron Penzenik, Sam Fisher, Tommy Buser and Andrew Thomas placed first.

For the girls team, Ally Meixner placed 1st in the long jump , Leah Valentine placed 2nd in the 400, Jan Benedetti took 1st in the 200, and 2nd in the long jump and Nina Verner  placed 3rd in the long jump. Kayla Kephart placed 1st in the 60 meter hurdles and Paige Miller placed 2nd. Ruth anand placed 2nd  in the 800, Aleni Bender took 1st in 1600, Megan Diulus took 2nd in the 1600 and Ellie Meech won the 3200! The 4x200 relay of Tatum Harner, Emma Fulton, Evelyn Tucker and Ellie Meech placed 2nd and the 4 x400 team of Aleni Bender, Katie Kinder, Ruth Anand and Megan Diulus placed 1st!
