BATH TWP. — After struggling to string together defensive stops in the first half, Revere's girls basketball team put the clamps down after the half Saturday in cruising to a 61-26 win over Woodridge in the Nordonia Division II Sectional opener.

Leading by 14 at the half, the sixth-seeded Minutemen (16-7) broke the game wide open after that with a 24-3 run to advance to a sectional final match up with third-seeded Orange this Thursday.

Sophomore guard Adison Novosel led all scorers with 18 points, while seniors Grace Hete (15 points) and Taylor Rinn (13) also were solid in the winning effort.

The 11th-seeded Bulldogs (4-18) got a 12-point night from Emma Francis.
